    Members of Continental U.S. NORAD Region (CONR) – 1st Air Force (Air Forces Northern) completed a week-long BLUE FLAG exercise May 14 focused on refining processes to defend North America against cyber, cruise missile and other air, space and cyber domains threats.

  • 505th Communications Squadron holds modified change of command ceremony

    On Friday, June 12th, due to COVID-19 precautions, the 505th Communications Squadron, Hurlburt Field, Florida, released a prerecorded change of command ceremony. The outgoing commander, Major Gilberto Perez, relinquished command to Lieutenant Colonel Veronica Williams. The ceremony was presided over by Colonel Shayne Yorton, commander of the 505th Combat Training Group, Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.

  • VIRTUAL FLAG 20-1: Train as You Fight

    The 705th Combat Training Squadron (CTS), 505th Command and Control Wing, home of Kirtland Air Force Base’s Distributed Mission Operations Center (DMOC), hosts VIRTUAL FLAG which serves as a train as you fight exercise by integrating the full spectrum of air, land, surface, space, and cyber warfighters in a virtual battlespace in joint and coalition environments. From 2 – 12 December 2019, the 705th CTS hosted joint Exercise VIRTUAL FLAG (VF) 20-1 with its mission partner, the 377th Air Base Wing at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico.
