Guard and Reserve Test Center Leads F-35 Combat Operations Testing
Weapons load crew members load munitions on an F-35A Lightning II while the aircraft's engines remain running during integrated combat turnaround testing at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. This first-of-its-kind procedure for the F-35 reduces aircraft regeneration time by allowing simultaneous "hot" refueling and weapons loading, decreasing aircraft vulnerability on the ground from three hours to under 25 minutes.
