Flying Crew Chiefs – The C-17’s unsung heroes

Master Sgt. Bernard Matthews, a flying crew chief from the 315th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Joint Base Charleston, S.C. conducts a walk-around inspection of a C-17 Globemaster III on a recent mission to Central America. The flying crew chief program places maintainers on aircraft as part of the crew to manage general maintenance issues throughout the jet.
