Christie takes command of 505th Operations Squadron
Col. Douglas Anderson (left), 505th Operations Group commander, presents the 505th Operations Squadron guidon to Lt. Col. Michael S. Christie during a change of command ceremony June 3 at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. Colonel Christie was serving as the U.S. Central Command Operations Director executive officer and assumed command from Lt. Col. William Apodaca. The 505th OS operates the Combined Air and Space Operations Center-Nellis. The squadron conducts initial and advanced qualification training for air, space, cyber and information operations and develops tactics, techniques and procedures to assess and integrate irregular warfare activities into joint operations. The 505th OG and OS are subordinate units of the 505th Command and Control Wing, Hurlburt Field, Fla. The 505th CCW's mission is to improve Warfighter capability through command and control testing, tactics development and training. (U.S. Air Force photo)
