705th TRS welcomes new commander

Lt. Col. Grant C. Bucks will assume command of the 705th Training Squadron from Lt. Col. Richard E. McGlamory during a change of command ceremony at Hurlburt Field, Fla., June 24, 2016. The 705th TRS is a subordinate unit of the 505th Command and Control Wing, an Air Combat Command tenant wing, here.

As the commander, Bucks will lead the 26-member squadron responsible for training Air Force senior leaders in advanced operational-level command and control. The 705th TRS provides advanced training to Air Force, joint and coalition senior leaders through several in-depth courses. The courses provided by the 705th TRS focus on Air and Space Operations Center processes and other command and control issues to help senior leaders prepare for their roles at Air and Space Operations Centers around the world. Additionally, the 705th TRS provides support in several major Air Force exercises, operational tactics, techniques and procedures for Air Force component commanders, and collects, processes and publishes lessons learned to help others across the command and control community. The 705th TRS supports continuous process improvement for operational command and control through collection, validation, and dissemination of lessons learned and tactics improvements.

Bucks’ previous assignment was as the chief of safety with the 48th Fighter Wing, RAF Lakenheath, England. As the chief of safety, he oversaw the safe operations of 76 combat-ready F-15 C/E Eagles and HH-60 Pave Hawks, 27 units, more than 1,000 facilities, $4 Billion in combat assets, and over 15,000 military and civilian personnel in U. S. Armed Forces Europe’s busiest combat wing. Additionally, he advised the nuclear surety council and ensured the 48th FW’s compliance with all nuclear surety programs and requirements.

McGlamory is moving to the Pentagon to serve in the strategic office of Checkmate.
