Col. Nhat-Thomas Tran, deputy commander of the 505th Distributed Warfare Group, won the Air Combat Command nomination for the Gen. John P. Jumper Award for Excellence in Warfighter Integration and will now compete at the Air Force level. The Secretary of the Air Force-sponsored award recognizes individuals for performance and contributions to the integration of Air Force warfighting and operations support that shortens the kill chain. Colonel Tran is ACC's nominee for Outstanding Warfighter Integration Officer of the Year for his leadership in Distributed Mission Operations. He was integral to the Air Force's live, virtual and constructive training program, overseeing 181 events in 17 exercises and enabling command and control training for about 32,000 joint and coalition warfighters. "His leadership in the DWG has always been a hallmark of excellence for our wing," said Col. Edward McKinzie, 505th Command and Control Wing commander. "I'm glad ACC has taken notice; he's a strong candidate and should compete well at the next level." Colonel Tran will compete among his peers at the Air Force level. The winner will be announced in May.
