HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. — The latest episode of Team Hanscom Today highlights programs and events aimed at strengthening the installation.

Master Sgt. Sarah Baker, Military and Family Readiness Center readiness NCO, and Shana Wickham, Exceptional Family Member Program family support coordinator, co-hosted the episode.

The hosts spotlighted Hearts Apart, a program that connects families of deployed personnel, remote tour members, Exceptional Family Member Program participants, and single parents.

“Hearts Apart is designed to keep families connected, giving them the chance to support one another through shared experiences,” said Baker. “The program reminds our community that no one goes through these challenges alone.”  A poster for the Oktoberfest event

The episode featured details about Oktoberfest, scheduled for Sept. 19 outside the base chapel.

“This year’s celebration kicks off at 3 p.m. with live music by the Bavarian Brothers, a stein-holding competition, and family-friendly activities for all ages,” said 1st Lt. Alyssa Sanchez, Commander’s Support Staff Section commander in the Force Support Squadron. “German bratwurst and the mobile tavern will be available at 4 p.m., while supplies last.”

The show concluded with Airman 1st Class Fernando Reyes Fernandez and Airman Basic Jessica Arnold announcing plans for the Air Force birthday. A cake-cutting ceremony will take place at the Minuteman Commons Sept. 18 at 3 p.m. with senior leaders.

“Come celebrate our great Air Force with us,” Reyes Fernandez said.
