911th Airlift Wing to honor fallen with Memorial Day flyover across Pittsburgh area

In honor of Memorial Day and the service members who made the ultimate sacrifice, the 911th Airlift Wing is scheduled to conduct a series of C-17 Globemaster III flyovers from 10:20 a.m. to 12:45 a.m. on Monday, May 26, 2025, across the greater Pittsburgh area .

Communities should prepare to hear and see low-flying C-17 Globemaster III aircraft in the following areas:

  • Bethel Park Cemetery in support of Bethel Park Memorial Day Parade

  • Richmond Township Community Park

  • Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in support of South Hills Memorial Day Parade

  • Main Street in Zelienople in support of Zelienople Memorial Day Parade

  • Union Cemetery in support of Irwin Memorial Day Parade

  • Anderson Field in support of Shaler Township Memorial Wall

  • Breckenridge Park

Each flyover is part of the Air Force Reserve’s ongoing mission to honor fallen service members, demonstrate the capabilities of the force, and inspire patriotism across the nation. These events are conducted as part of already scheduled training and come at no additional cost to the taxpayer. All flyovers will be conducted in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations and are subject to change or cancellation due to weather or operational requirements.
