This past week, soldiers with the U.S. Army Reserve received their Combat Lifesaver Course certification at the Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC) on JB MDL. The MSTC provides state of the art training in treating all areas of trauma and basic medical scenarios. Under the principles of Tactical Casualty Combat Care (TC3), students gain knowledge and skills to treat severe bleeding, manage a tension pneumothorax, and establish a secure airway. The MSTC offers TC3 training through classroom instruction, basic hands-on training, and the use of realistic trauma and medical scenarios. The functional skills developed are supported and reinforced by a final simulated battlefield exercise. This immersive environment helps to familiarize the student with potential environments found in deployed environments.
