The 505th Command and Control Wing is the Air Force's only Wing dedicated to operational-level command and control. The wing is headquartered at Hurlburt Field, Fla., but has several geographically separated units across the United States. The 505 CCW is a subordinate unit of the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center, Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. The wing is made up of a diverse group of Airmen, civilians and contractors who work on many different tasks, but are all dedicated to taking testing, tactics, and training to the operational level by specializing in command and control in air, space, and cyberspace.

Mission
The mission of the 505 CCW is to Improve Combat Capability for the Warfighter through Command and Control Testing, Tactics Development, and Training. While our mission focuses on the Component Numbered Air Forces (C-NAF) and their attached and assigned forces, we are also tasked to support joint and coalition forces engaged in all aspects of C2. C2 is where the integration of air, space, and cyber happens! Through a multi-disciplinary approach to training and development of tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) for the Component-NAF Headquarters; testing and training of key C2 systems; and comprehensive, realistic, cutting-edge operational through tactical-level live, virtual, and constructive exercises, the 505th is postured to provide the best possible support to the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines who are fighting and winning our nation's battles.

Units
505th Training Group
The mission of the 505 TRG is to Develop Air, Space and Cyber operational level C2 Professionals through integrated joint and coalition education & training. In addition to running the Air Force's only AOC Formal Training Unit, the 505 TRG is responsible for teaching senior-level AOC courses, supervising the Operational Command Training Program, and through the 505th Communications Squadron, providing communications and information technology support across all wing organizations.

505th Operations Group
The mission of the 505 OG is to Operate a world-class C2 facility advancing air, space and cyber integration; ACC's Operational Test Organization for the TACS and selected ISR weapons systems; monitor, evaluate, and optimize Air Defense RADAR networks. In addition to hosting world-class AOC Combat Operations continuation training opportunities at CAOC-Nellis, the 505 OG is chartered to teach the Air Force's only Air Support Operations Center (ASOC) IQT course. The 505 OG is located at Nellis AFB, Nev. The 505 OG oversees operations of the 505th Operations Squadron, also at Nellis AFB, the 605th Test and Evaluation Squadron at Hurlburt Field, Fla., the 84th Radar Evaluation Squadron at Hill AFB, Utah; and the 133rd Test Squadron at Fort Dodge, Iowa.

505th Distributed Warfare Group
The mission of the 505 DWG is to Exercise the joint and coalition team with a virtual battlespace and professional control force. The 505 DWG is the Air Force's lead organization for planning, executing, and assessing BLUE FLAG and VIRTUAL FLAG, the Air Force's premier command and control exercises. The 505 DWG has two subordinate squadrons. The 705th Combat Training Squadron, also located at Kirtland, is home to the U.S. Air Force Distributed Mission Operations Center and leads the Air Force's Virtual Flag exercise. The 505 DWG's other subordinate squadron is the 505th Combat Training Squadron, which is located at Hurlburt Field, Fla. The 505th CTS is home to the U.S. Air Force Professional Control Force and leads the Air Force's Blue Flag exercise.

505th Command and Control Wing Detachment 1
The 505th Command and Control Wing Detachment 1 The mission of the 505 CCW, Detachment 1 is to Provide liaison and exercise support to Combined Arms Center on air, space and cyberspace power employment with direct support to the Battle Command Training Program. Det. 1 provides airpower academics during Battle Command Seminars (BCS), and integrates a doctrinally-correct representation of air, space, and cyber power in Army Mission Rehearsal Exercises (MRX) and Warfighter Exercises (WFX). It is located at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., and is the principle air and space power adviser to the Army's Training and Doctrine Command Combined Arms Center.
